Résumé: This study aims to know the role of the banking system in attracting foreign direct investment in Algeria due to the importance of foreign direct investment as an important source of capital flow and increasing foreign exchange reserves, which play a major role in driving economic development. Therefore, we used the descriptive and historical approach to present the basic concepts of the banking system and foreign direct investment, as well as to identify the most important banking reforms carried out by Algeria after independence and to this day and show its role in attracting foreign capital, and the analytical approach through the analysis of foreign inflows and outflows to Algeria, In addition to analyzing the most important macroeconomic variables that are considered as one of the main determinants of foreign direct investment, which are controlled by the Central Bank, and showing their role in increasing the volume of foreign investments incoming to Algeria
