La Mondialisation : Caractéristiques Et Impacts.

Résumé: Globalisation is a complex phenomenon with multiple effects. On the one hand it is considered as an irresistible and beneficial force which brings economic prosperity to all people of the planet. On the other hand, we see in it the source of all contemporary evils. Nevertheless, it is widely recoganised in the liberalisation of international trade, the expansion of foreign direct investment and the emergence of massive cross-border financial flows the main features of Globalisation. These changes have led to an increase of competition in global markets. It is generally agreed that this phenomenon occurred due to two combined factors, namely policies designed to reduce national barriers to international economic transactions, and the impact of new technologies mainly in information and communications. These changes provided the conditions that led to the start up of globalization. The impact of these new technologies gives distinctiveness to the current process of globalization compared to similar occasions in the past. Barriers have been considerably reduced. The cost of information, people, goods and capitals around the world has dropped dramatically, and instant and cheap global communication costs cheaper and flows faster. All these factors have increased the feasibility of economic transactions in the world. Markets can now reach global stature and embrace a growing range of goods and services. Another distinctive feature of the current process of globalization is the fact lies in the fact that one element is conspicuously missing. Unlike previous episodes which were characterised by massive cross-border movement of people, the current process largely excludes this phenomenon. In this article, we describe the outstanding features of the development of globalization and the emerging institutional framework that governs and we evaluate its impact on the country and people.
