Infections Bactériennes Des Voies Urinaires.

Résumé: Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are a significant public health issue due to their prevalence and the difficulty in treating them. There are four types of bacterial infections of the urinary tract: cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, and prostatitis. The identification of the bacteria responsible for these infections is done through the ytobacteriological examination of urine (ECBU), as well as the evaluation of their resistance and sensitivity to antibiotics via the antibiogram.Our study involves conducting a prospective and retrospective study from 18 November 2023 to 11 March 2024, at the private medical analysis laboratory of Dr. Bouarroudj Nadir (Wilaya of Mila). Among the 44 positive ECBU samples, our results showed that the prevalence of bacterial urinary tract infections is higher in women (77.28%) than in men (22.72%) and that the age group over 60 years seems more susceptible with a rate of 45.44%. In contrast, urinary tract infections are mainly due to intestinal bacteria, with E. coli having the highest percentage (73%), followed by Enterobacter sp (16%), Staphylococcus sp (9%), and Enterococcus sp (2%).The antibiogram indicated high resistance rates for Enterobacteriaceae against the different antibiotics tested, notably the beta-lactam family (Amoxicillin, Cefazolin, and Cefoxitin). However, Staphylococci showed resistance to Penicillin and Cefoxitin.
