Résumé: Due to the spread of the Corona epidemic that prevented us from conducting experimental work in the laboratory, we resorted to this work to summarize 10 scientific articles that included extracting essential oils for five plants from several different regions, where the highest yield of Ruta graveolens (1.29%) from the region of India, followed by returns the essential oil of Lawsonia inermis (0.82%) growing in Malaysia, followed by Corchorus olitorius from Tunisia with 0.63%, followed by Ocimum basilicum from Egypt with 0.48%, and oleifera Moringa from India with a low yield of 0.05%. . The active chemical compounds present in essential oils were determined using GC-MS technology, and it was found that the essential oil of C. olitorius (Tunisia) contains 27 compounds, and the most important of these compounds is Nonadecane with a rate of 21.68%, while the essential oil of Lawsonia inermis (Malaysia) contained 23 at least one component, the predominant compound is heptadecane (23.48%), while 24 components were found in M oleifera (India). The main component was Naphthalene (35.65%), while 65 compounds were found in O. basilicum (Egypt). The most abundant compound is linalool (43.5%) and the essential oil of Ruta graveolens (India) contained seven compounds, the most important of which was 2-Undecanone (47.21%). Finally, the antioxidant effectiveness was estimated in several ways, as the results obtained showed that these essential oils have an effective role in inhibiting free radicals, and the results of estimating the return ability of essential oils for some plants, such as Lawsonia inermis (Malaysia), which have a great return capacity, reaching a value AEAC (2992.21 ± 230.17 mg).
