Résumé: لقد شغلت قضية المرأة مكانة كبيرة في مواثيق حقوق الإنسان والقوانين الدولية، نظرا لقيمتها وأهمتها في المجتمع وسيرورة تقدمه، فتنمية المجتمع من تنميتها وتخلفه من تخلفها، ولذلك كانت العناية بها ورعاية متطلباتها وتحقيق رفاهيتها وشروط تنميتها أحد أسباب تقدم الدول ونهضتها، باعتبارها الأساس في إنجاب الأجيال وتربيتهم، ولا يثمر ذلك ثمرته إذا لم تكن متمتعة بكافة حقوقها التي تضمن لها الصحة والسلامة والأمن والحرية والكرامة لتحقيق ذلك والمساهمة في تنمية المجتمع بما يواكب العصر الذي تتساوى فيه المرأة بالرجل في كافة الحقوق والواجبات مع رعاية خصوصيتها البيولوجية في الحمل والإنجاب والرعاية الصحية لذلك، وكذا احترام خصوصية بنيتها الجسدية حتى لا تحمل ما لا تطيق في الشغل أو تستغل استغلالا ينقص من قيمتها وحريتها وكرامتها.
