Study And Simulation Of The Transmit Diversity Technique In Lte Systems
Résumé: The LTE (Long Term Evolution) is the latest mobile communications standards developed by the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP). It has achieved since its introduction a rapid and wide deployment around the world as it provides a real global broadband mobile access technology. This success has been achieved by using a set of enabling technologies that traced their origins to well-established area of research in communication. The aim of our project is to examine one of these technologies; the MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) technology and specifically its Transmit Diversity feature. To this end, we have implemented a set of Matlab routines to simulate the behavior of the downlink model of the transmission link as specified by the LTE standard. Different parameters of the transmission (channel model and bandwidth, modulation scheme, antenna configuration, MIMO mode, coding rate …) can be varied and the results are presented in the form of BER (Bit Error Rate) versus SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio) in order to evaluate the effects of these parameters on the performance of the transmission.
