Venture Capital: A Novel Financing Mechanism To Support Startups In Algeria-the Algerian Startups Fund As A Model-

Résumé: To promote the start-up ecosystem and address the obstacles that hinder their creation and development, especially those related to financing, which is one of the main reasons for the failure of many of them, venture capital has emerged as a novel financing tool. It is characterized by its ability and efficiency in dealing with the risks that these institutions often face. From this perspective, Algeria has initiated the enhancement of the role of venture capital in financing Startups. The Algerian Startups Fund, established in 2020, is the fruit of this new strategic direction by decision-makers in Algeria. This study aims to highlight the reality of venture capital in Algeria and the establishment of the Algerian Fund for Financing Startups as a new financing mechanism directed at these institutions, within the new approach adopted by the state. It also aims to examine the financing process undertaken by this fund.
