Résumé: Weaimed frome this study to assess the Algerian Banksreadiness to the Basel III standardsapplication, andto identify the challenges of its application.In addition to find a develop mechanisms that allow the Algerian banks to overcome these challenges. We have studiedthe reality ofBaselIand Basel II implementation in theAlgerianbanks, and we used the questionnairetool to identify the challenges of Basel III standards application and the mechanisms necessary for the development of the Algerian banks in accordance withthese standards. We concluded that there is a limited application of the Basel standards in Algerian banks thatare calculated the capital adequacy on the basis of Basel I standard 1988, it also implemented internal control system which is derived from the Basel II standards 2004,also the Bank of Algeria has forced banks to raise their capital against the backdrop of the global financial crisis which is consistent with the Basel III standards. Thusthe results show us that there is a cumulative set of challenges in the implementation of the Basel III standards by the Algerian banks, there are also future challenges imposed by ordinal levels set by the Basel Committee to comply with the standards of the new accord, from thatwe have provided a set of proposed mechanisms to develop Algerian banks in accordance with the Basel III standards
