Esp For Algerian Startup Holders Under The Ministerial Decision 1275: Boosting Language Skills For Business Success

Résumé: The paper explores how English for Specific Purposes (ESP) contributes to business success for Algerian startup holders operating within the framework of the Ministerial Decision 1275. It specifically assesses the current English language proficiency of these future entrepreneurs, identifies their specific language needs in business planning, pitching to investors, and networking, and evaluates the effectiveness of ESP courses designed for them. The study involves 37 startup owners from Chlef University, and data was collected through an online questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings reveal significant gaps in English skills, highlighting substantial challenges in business domains. Consequently, the paper recommends the development of ESP programs designed to meet specific needs, enhance access to resources, and improve integration. Proposed initiatives include specialized ESP courses, flexible training formats, and combining language training with entrepreneurial mentoring.
