صورة العرب والمسلمين وتطورها في السينما الأمريكية

Résumé: تُعتبر السينما من أهم وسائل التواصل والترفيه الجماهيريين والتي ساهمت في تشكيل وجهات نظر الجمهور وتصوراته حول مختلف الشعوب والثقافات. كان لهوليوود الأسبقية في تطوير السينما وجعلها صناعة قوية، وتصدرت العالم بإنتاج أهم وأضخم الأعمال السينمائية، ولكنها استحوذت أيضًا على مكانتها كأحد أهم صناع الصور السلبية وإلصاقها بالأعراق أو الشعوب في قوالب جاهزة. وقد انعكست هذه السياسات السلبية بشكل كبير على صورة العرب والمسلمين أيضا، والذين تم تصويرهم عمومًا بأنهم أكثر الشعوب تخلفًا وشرًا، وتمتلئ سجلات السينما الأمريكية بالعديد من الأفلام التي استخدمت العرب والمسلمين كشخصيات سلبية ومنحرفة بشكل كثيف وممنهج يجعلنا نتساءل: ما الهدف وراء هذا التشويه؟ وما هي الجهات المسؤولة عن صناعتها؟ وما مدى صحة العلاقة بين ما تصوره هوليوود مع الواقع؟ قمنا باستعراض أهم هذه الأفلام بناءا على أهميتها وحجمها جماهيريا وأثرها القوي على المتلقي ورصد الجوانب السلبية التي تروج لها السينما الأمريكية، مع تحليل ووصف الوسائل الدرامية المستخدمة للتلاعب الدرامي بعواطف المشاهدين وكسب تعاطفهم وتأييدهم للأحكام المقدمة في هذه الأعمال. أما النتائج المستخلصة كانت موازية للتقسيم الزمني المنتهج في بحثنا هذا، إذ يتضح أن هوليوود انتقلت من مجرد تصوير سطحي كاريكاتوري للعرب والمسلمين إلى صور أكثر تعقيدا وشخصيات مركبة قد تجمع بين الشر والكاريزما والذكاء. Abstract: Cinema is considered one of the most important means of mass communication and entertainment, contributing to shaping the public's views and perceptions of different peoples and cultures. Historically, Hollywood has been at the forefront of developing cinema into a powerful industry, producing some of the most important and biggest cinematic works. However, it has also cemented its position as one of the most important purveyors of negative imagery, often stereotyping races or peoples into ready-made molds. These negative policies have significantly influenced the portrayal of Arabs and Muslims as backward and malevolent peoples. The records of American cinema are filled with numerous films that have depicted Arabs and Muslims as negative and deviant characters extensively and systematically, prompting us to ask: What are the most important and dangerous images created by Hollywood about Arabs and Muslims? Who is responsible for creating them? And what is the validity of the relationship between Hollywood's portrayal and reality? We have reviewed the most important of these films based on their importance, popularity, and their strong impact on the audience, while highlighting the negative aspects promoted by American cinema. We analyzed and described the dramatic techniques used to manipulate viewers' emotions and garner their sympathy and support for the judgments presented in these works. The results obtained were parallel to the chronological division adopted in our research, as it becomes apparent that Hollywood has moved from mere superficial caricatured depictions of Arabs and Muslims to more complex images and multifaceted characters that may combine elements of evil, charisma, and intelligence.
