The Algerian Monetary Policy In Response To The Covid-19 Health Crisis

Résumé: The Coronavirus pandemic is one of the most important crises the world’s economy and Algeria have faced, given the impact it has had on various sectors. The Algerian authorities have begun to act since the first case of coronavirus was recorded. Thus, this study aims to assess the importance of the used monetary policy to face the consequences of the crisis by analyzing the quantitative procedures and tools and how has the Central Bank used to deal with the pandemic. Through this study, it has been shown that the Central Bank of Algeria has taken several measures and actions to ensure the stabilization of the economy and control inflation as precautionary relief and economic recovery measures. Finally⸴ monetary policy alone is not enough to face such crises unless it is combined with fiscal policy
