Résumé: rsification, with an application to the Algerian economy during the period (2000-2021). The study derives its theoretical importance from the role of fiscal policy in regulating economic activity and promoting economic diversification. It also addresses the structural imbalances in the Algerian economy resulting from excessive oil dependence. Given the significance of the relationship between research variables and the need to produce results that contribute to understanding the impact of independent variables (fiscal policy tools) on the pendent variable (economic diversification), the study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach in the theoretical section. On the practical side, an inductive approach was employed to measure the impact of fiscal policy tools on economic diversification, using Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to study the correlation between arious study variables and the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model for time-distributed gaps. Additionally, the study tested the causal relationship between study variables using the Granger Causality and Toda & Yamamoto methodologies. The study found a predominantly negative impact of most fiscal policy variables on economic diversification in Algeria in both the short and long term. This underscores the limited contribution of fiscal policy variables to economic diversification, leading to the conclusion that the national economy remains a rentier economy. Furthermore, the absence of a public spending policy, particularly in investment xpenditures, hinders progress toward economic diversification.Thus, expansive fiscal policies traditionally followed by Algerian authorities in public spending have had no positive impact. Petroleum revenue continues to be the primary source of state revenue. Consequently, the future of fiscal policy in achieving economic diversification in the Algerian economy remains closely tied to the oil sector, whether in oil-related or non-oil activities.
