Résumé: The current study seeks to reveal the relationship between self-esteem and psychological stress among students in the third year of secondary school، and the impact of the interaction of each of the levels of self-esteem: (high - low)، gender: (male - female)، the level of self-esteem: (high - low) and specialization: (scientific-literary)، and in order to delve into this study، the appropriate correlative descriptive approach was relied upon. The study's hypotheses were also tested based on the following statistical methods: 1- Pearson correlation coefficient: to find out the relationship between the two variables: self-esteem and psychological stress among students in the third year of secondary school. 2- Binary differential analysis: to reveal the significance of the differences in the psychological stress scale according to the interaction between: the level of self-esteem: (high - low)، gender: (male - female)، the level of self-esteem: (high - low) and specialization: (scientific) -literary) The sample of the current study consisted of: (90) male and female students from the third year of secondary school، and the study sample was chosen by the simple random method، and the field application was carried out in some secondary schools of the city of Ouargla. The following two tools were also used for data collection: 1- A self-esteem scale designed by: "Cooper Smit" year: 2012 2- The psychological stress scale designed by: "Fayza Ghazi Al-Abdullah"، year: 2014 Then the psychometric properties of the two scales were extracted by calculating the validity and reliability coefficients before applying them in the main study، and then the data was treated using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences: (SPSS) program in its twenty-second version. The study concluded with the following results: 1- The level of self-esteem of the third year secondary students is high. 2- The level of psychological stress among students in the third year of secondary school is low. 3- There is a statistically significant relationship between self-esteem and psychological stress among students in the third year of secondary school. 4- There are no statistically significant differences in the average grades of the third year students in the psychological stress scale according to the interaction between the level of self-esteem: (high - low) and gender: (male - female). 3- There are statistically significant differences in the average grades of the third year students low) and specialization: (scientific - literary). These findings were interpreted in the light of the theoretical heritage and previous studies related to the two topics of the current study: (Self-Esteem - Psychological Stress)، and the study concluded with a set of recommendations directed to the educational and advisory staff in secondary schools.
