Résumé: ملخص: يعد أدب الرحلة وثيقة تقوم على المشاهدة والوصف والسرد لحياة الأمم والأقاليم البعيدة، ليوثّق مختلف عاداتهم وسائر نظم معيشتهم، فكان القرن الرابع الهجري منطلقا لذلك، فهو يهدف للتطلع على الآخر ومحاولة الانفتاح عليه لتحقيق التمازج والتكامل بين الثقافات والحضارات المتباينة. ومما خلصت إليه من نتائج أن ابن فضلان كانت رحلته بهدف تعليم الآخر الدين الإسلامي، فقامت على ثنائية التزيين والتقبيح (الذات والآخر) لعديد أوصاف المشاهدات، ثم النظرة الدونية لعاداتهم السلبية المستعصية أحيانا على التقويم. Abstract Travel literature is a document based on observation, description and narration of the lives of distant nations and regions, to document their various customs and other systems of living. The fourth century AH was the starting point for this, as it aims to look at the other and try to be open to it in order to achieve mixing and integration between disparate cultures and civilizations. Among the results I concluded was that Ibn Fadlan’s journey was aimed at teaching others the Islamic religion, so it was based on the duality of beautification and ugliness (the self and the other) to many scenes that he encountered and described, and then the inferiority view of their negative habits that are sometimes difficult to correct.
