Résumé: In this study we aim to identify the contribution of the training strategy in improving the performance of employees in petroleum institutions, and by recognizing the reality of the training strategy and the level of use of this strategy as a basis for assessing the performance of employees, Is this strategy determined according to the scientific method. In order to answer this problem, two types of indicators were used, quantitative indicators of which are: The number of workers, the number of trainees, the training costs, the wage mass of workers and the productivity of the trainee) and qualitative indicators (identification of training needs, implementation of the training process, design of the training process, evaluation of the training process and performance evaluation of the employees), and these indicators were studied and applied to a sample of petroleum institutions operating in the Hassi Messaoud area (ENTP, ENSP, ENAGEO, BAKER HUGHES) The study concluded that the Algerian petroleum institutions have a training strategy but are ineffective in improving and evaluating the performance of workers, despite the availability of all material, financial and human resources, The reason for the ineffectiveness of this strategy is the lack of precise definition
