The Psychosocial Risks, Suffering And Quality Of Work Life Among Health Workers

Résumé: This article examines the psychological risks (PSRs), distress, and quality of work life of health care workers. PSRs refer to any threat to psychological, physical, and social health in the workplace, particularly in the healthcare sector. These threats are caused by the pressure of constant emotional contact with patients, resulting in suffering at work. This suffering affects mental functioning and is also influenced by the organization of work in all professional and relational aspects. Understanding the issues surrounding PSR and health worker distress is critical and must take into account factors such as stress, burnout, and violence. In conclusion, addressing PSR and the suffering of health workers requires a shift in perspective to view work as a source of well-being, satisfaction, and accomplishment rather than suffering and illness.
